Large Tree Planting @ Fall City Floodplain
Please join the Snoqualmie Tribe’s Habitat Restoration Team as we continue restoring riparian forest habitat on the main stem of the Snoqualmie River in Fall City on November 15th from 10am to 1pm. We will be planting large trees in one of our largest floodplain forest plantings, continuing to build resilience and diversity to a restoration site years in the making! Over the years, we’ve had volunteers help us plant, mulch, and weed many areas of this site. We’re excited to bring you back to the young forest that has grown here since we started this work several years ago!
Join us to learn about the ecology of the area, how this work connects us to salmon, and see how our work in this important salmon spawning reach is developing!
The trees we will be planting for this event are very large trees, some up to 15 feet tall, with large root masses. Moving and planting these trees will be a group effort and require coordination and team lifting skills.
Although this is the main task of the event, opportunities to weed, spread wildflower seeds, and (hopefully) see salmon in the river are also available.
