Restoration Volunteer Event @ Fall City Natural Area – Take 2!
Please join the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s Habitat Restoration Team in the Fall City Natural Area on Saturday, December 19th from 10am to 1pm as we restore riparian forest habitat! We will be planting large cottonwood stakes, seeding and as always, continuing to remove non-native blackberry from the restoration area. This work continues floodplain forest habitat improvements the Tribe and volunteers have been working at last month, as well as since 2020. RSVP form below!
As we revisit this project many years in the making, continued attention will help us keep this restoration effort on a sustainable path. After clearing blackberry, knotweed and reed canary in 2020, and initial plantings by volunteers in 2022, this restoration site is more ecologically diverse than when we found it. Releasing native plants from the pressure of non-native blackberry and expanding the plant palette will help this site as it grows into the future.
Come learn about the continued work the Tribe is doing in the area, how this work connects to salmon and other wildlife, and reflect on the restoration we’ve completed together!
