Volunteer Restoration Event @ Carnation Marsh

Please join the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s Habitat Restoration Team as we continue restoring riparian habitat in the Carnation Marsh Natural Area on Saturday, March 8th from 10am to 1pm! We will be removing non-native, weedy species to protect native trees and shrubs and maintain diverse resilient floodplain forest habitat. RSVP below!
Four years into the process of restoring am abandoned field dominated by non-native evergreen blackberry, recently planted trees will help create much needed shade, structure, and complexity in the floodplain, keep non-native plants from reclaiming the space, and maintain conditions that enable native resources to thrive. Come learn about the work the Snoqualmie Tribe is doing in the area, how this work connects to salmon and other wildlife, and listen in on the nearby bird sanctuary!
This event will happen rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Rain gear, boots, and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy are recommended. Bring your own water bottle and coffee mug to help us reduce waste. Tools, gloves, snacks, and water will be provided! In the case of dangerous weather conditions, we will send out an email with updates or cancellations.
Roadside parking is available onsite, and the event will take place in the planted field on the west side of W Snoqualmie River Rd NE. See the attached map for more context or search the address 1005 W Snoqualmie River Rd NE, Carnation, WA 98014 for an approximate location.
Welcoming us all to 2025, we have a new annual waiver that can be filled out in the RSVP below, or by clicking here to open a new window. Your RSVP helps us prepare for the event and is much appreciated. Whether you’re new to volunteering with us or an old familiar, the new waiver is required before volunteering and you only need to fill out one for the whole 2025 calendar year!
